THE APPRENTICE

Meet Cloe'

Cloe' is a full-time college student with a part-time job. Cloe' needs her haircut and would love to have her highlights brightened.

Her predicament?

Because of school, Cloe' finds herself on a strict financial diet.

Back home, when mom and dad were footin' the bills for Cloe', she paid "Big Bucks" for a hairstyle that complimented her face shape, lifestyle and busy schedule.

Cloe', new to the area because of school and "Big Bucks" being on her most-endangered species list, she asked around the college campus to get a recommendation for an affordable salon. During her research, a Proctology Major suggested she try "Cuts R Us Hair and Nail Hut."

Cloe' dials the number with anxious anticipation hoping to find someone who will take good care of her like her stylist back home. "How many rings before someone answers the phone?" her mind quietly ponders.

Suddenly, the ringing is interrupted by a harried-voice blurting out, "Cuts R Us, gotta put you on hold!" And then the dreaded on-hold CLICK, only to be replaced by endless minutes of maddening, irritating music blasting through her cell phone.

Cloe', being the optimist she is, looks on the bright side of life and continues to hold. For a brief moment her mind sinks into despair, "Did I dial the right number?"

Finally, the roar of distorted music is replaced by an impatient voice asking, "Who are you waiting for?"

"My name is Cloe' and I'd like to make an appointment for a..."

"Joey, who cuts your hair here at Cuts R Us?"

"My name is Cloe', not Joey, and I've never been to your salon. I was hoping you could recommend someone good."

"Hold on," the less than friendly voice demands.

Again, through the earpiece of Cloe's cell phone, the shouting intensifies, "Hey Jacko, there's some lady on the phone who wants a haircut. You got any time?"

Some mumbling, phone-fumbling and then, "Be here at three. Jacko is gonna try and squeeze you in while his other person's color is cookin'."

Meet Risky Dick

Risky Dick is a gambler and loves pullin' his handle. He's a risk taker! If you look real close, you may notice RD's "cross-fingers" technique for trying to win THE MEGA BUCKS. Unfortunately, LUCK wasn't on Risky Dick's side today. He went home with empty pockets and a sore palm.

But what about Cloe'? Is LUCK going to be on her side when she visits "Cuts R Us? Is she not a gambler just like Risky Dick?

Meet Tiffiny and Dorlon (aka TEAM DYNAMO)

Tiffiny is The Apprentice. Dorlon is Tiff's Mentor. If you listened Thursday morning to our "Health and Beauty" segment on The Bill and Connie Show, you would have heard Tiffiny and I discussing the benefits of the Genesis Salon Apprenticeship Program. Tiffiny explained how she's learned to use Color Analysis to identify which hair color will look best with a person's skin tone and eye color. How she analyses the client's Face Shape to suggest which haircut will be most flattering. How identifying Body Type can assist in choosing the most appropriate hair length. And how a person's Style Personality helps her choose the best approach to home haircare products, styling and/or blow drying.

Lifestyle and Current Trends come into play only after she fully understands the client's wants, needs and desires. In other words, what will assist the client in looking and feeling her or his best!

On Saturday, Chris Merbach, owner of Rollin' In The Dough Bakery, had a lesson on how to use his Bumble and bumble styling products at home. Okay, things may have gotten a little out of control between Tiffiny and me. You can be assured, however, Chris loves all the attention he receives from our beautiful staff at Genesis. The delicious cakes, muffins, pastries and other treats he brings the girls from his bakery have made him a SUPER HERO at Genesis!

Currently, I work one-on-one with three Apprentices at Genesis - Julie Vargus, Tiffiny McCorkle and Melizza Santos.

If Cloe' would have tuned into our Thursday Morning "Health and Beauty" segment on ALICE 96.5, she would have learned THE APPRENTICE is what she was so desperately searching for - discounted prices, red carpet service, professionalism and extraordinary work!

Early in my career, I was THE APPRENTICE to a man by the name of Russell Hyde. If not for Russell, I would have never realized the depth, magic and artistic perceptions required to be an extraordinary hairdresser. Russell taught me to see beyond what's considered "acceptable." He gave me the vision to see into the world of exceptional! Now, I have the privilege of passing "the baton" to THE APPRENTICES I am currently working with.

HOT! HOTTER! HOTTEST!!!
Just one more reason the call us today!

"Hey, Cloe'... Who you gonna call?"
